The Catalan Generalitat has had to rescue the ski stations that have a deficit
While cuts in public services do not stop, seven of the nine Catalan ski resorts are in the hands of the Government and only two of them are operated by private companies except from Baqueira and Masella. All ski resorts in Catalonia are public, after the regional government come to the rescue of Boi Taüll for its lack of viability. Boi Taüll Station, in the Pyrenees, was owned by Nozar, who didn’t injected at the time the resources needed and since the Aragonese group filed bankruptcy in 2009 its facilities will also be managed now, like the rest stations, by the public transport company Railways of the Generalitat (FGC).
